RANDY COUTURE QUITS THE UFC

Huuuuuge blow. His resignation letter was sent to Dana White from South Africa.

Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com mentions that there may have been unhappiness stemming from the big money being offered to Fedor Emelianenko, which has been construed as insulting to those whom many believe played a big part in building the company and getting it to where it is today. Additionally, UFC’s inability to sign Fedor (who signed with the Russian M1 promotion this week and was the last big money opponent for Couture) also played a part in Couture’s decision.

More on this when….there’s more on this.

It’s worth noting that this week also saw the official announcement for the Chuck Liddell/Wanderlei de Silva fight in December.
